INTERNSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT


Title:  Graphic/Technical Artist  Intern (with AutoCad)

Name of Supervisor:  Anthony  J. Les

Location/Bureau/Area:  Madison, Wisconsin, GEF-2, Bureau of Facilities and Lands.

Description of Internship:  The graphic artist internship will be for approximately 8 weeks, averaging 20 hours per week, with flexible work hours. The job will include the development of a series of technical illustrations related to handicapped accessibility for the Department of Natural Resources Design Standards Manual. All the drawings must be original (not copied form other sources) and of a similar style and format. The illustrations must be completed in AutoCad and related software, and suitable for website and/or electronic publication. All the illustrations produced during the internship will become the property of the Department.

Desired Qualifications: Qualified candidates should have excellent graphic and technical drawing skills that includes the ability to produce 3D perspective technical drawings, as well as the ability to draw human figures to fit into the scale of the technical drawings.  

Applicants should be skilled in the use of AutoCad, and have one year of classroom training in art, design, engineering or architectrual drawing, or two years of professional work experience in the graphic arts.  Final candidates selected for interview will be expected to present a portfolio of their original work.

Salary:  $18.00/hour
