Our bodies' maintain a blood pH of 7.35 to 7.4. Your very life would be in danger
if it varied even by a small amount, say down to 7 or up to 7.8. So the body is
constantly performing a balancing act. Whenever you eat something acid, your body
will buffer that acid. If you are not eating enough alkaline-forming foods then
your body has to rob minerals from your bones, muscles, tissues and ligaments in
order to stay in balance. Just by going paleo you have eliminated a number of
acid-forming foods such as sugar, coffee, dairy, and grains. Eat plenty of fruits
and veggies and you have no worries in this department! :-)
