I was taking psyllium husks for a while. They are vile (in texture, not
taste), but effective. On the other hand, they are grain. I read that in
one of Ray's messages in the archives. But maybe this is an exception
that's
worth making.

I've been taking psyllium for about 12 years, every day. It has helped me
tremendously. If I am adhering very strictly to paleo (no cheats including
no tomatoes or peppers, and lots of veggies) I can do without it but I do
much better with it. I don't know whether or not it is a grain, but it has
been a huge benefit.
