I would go with the electric lift. You do not want to be constantly taking
wheels on and off, nor do you want to develop a back problem. I used to ride
my grandpa's tricycle in long beach, I seem to remember it was not that long,
but again it was an upright.  Maybe you could get a folding model. There are
bikes that fold pretty easily, why not a trike?
