There is no definitive answer on question one, it's been asked
for as long as there've been machines that can stay on.

the best seems to be that if you're going to leave the computer
unused for several hours, maybe turn it off. My personal limit
is perhaps 3 or 4 hours of dead time is enough for the off
switch, but nobody will ever prove it one way or another.

As for leaving the screen reader loaded, unless you're getting
unexpected messages from windows or something that make weird
noises and make you think you're hearing voices, it can make no
difference what ever if the reader is loaded. Unless of course
it crashes because its mad you're not using it.

My wife's "ME" machine, no reader installed, is now crashing in
suspend mode, but that's "ME" the worst of a bad lot of so-called
operating systems from "THEM"!

the only reason to shut down or to use power management modes is
to save energy, and that may be signifficant.

do as you want, and you'll never know if it was the best thing or
not.

See, no good answer.
