Scott,

to enable extended select mode in Microsoft Word, tap the F8 key. If
there is a character or work to search for, just type it in and press
enter and the text between the original point and where you ended up will
be selected. I usually use an unusual character not in my document, such
as a tilde, percent sign, or bracket to mark my end point. tapping twice
selects the word you are on, one more tap selects the sentence, another
tap selects the paragraph. You can step back with a shift F8 I believe.
I press escape to turn off extended selected mode.

Kelly

Subject: Extended select mode

Hi.
I am trying to use extended select mode (F8) to speed up selecting text
in
Microsoft Word. Do any of you know about any documentation on the
function?
For example, I am unsure how to turn it off. Also, I have been able to
move
the selection forward by typing in characters, but don't know whether
there is
a way to move it backward (i.e. up).
Essentially, what I am trying to do is find easy ways to select and
unselect
sentences in word. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott
