Subject: [PCBUILD] No FAT32
HELP I've deleted EVERYTHING from my HD. Now I can't get anything to
install. An XP CD only wants to format to NTFS not FAT32 then reboots but
does not install.
John,
I can only address the XP issue having recently installed XP on new DIY
project. After you partition your disk (which XP will walk you through) you
need to allocate and format space. When confronted with the format/file
choice screen, you will notice there are two lines; the top line specifies
the file type, the second the cluster size. The 2nd line comes up as a
default and that choice only lets you choose NTFS. Click the menu of the
2nd line and you will see that the cluster size can be set. Choose any
cluster size and then you can go back to the first line and choose the file
type. It took me about 1/2 hr to realize how to do it. I hope this helps.
