For those of you who like the out of the way places in the capital city, you
knew it had to come:
Sonny Bono Memorial Park
An avid admirer paid for and personally landscaped a grassy traffic triangle
as a tribute to the rock star turned Palm Springs mayor turned Republican
Congressman who died in a skiing accident in 1998. Bring a bag lunch and sit
under shady trees in one corner of Washington where, now and forevermore,
the beat goes on.
Where: One block southwest of Dupont Circle at intersection of New Hampshire
Avenue, 20th and O streets, NW
