One of the things about lists like this is that it can
be very validating for feelings,information and
support. You get to feel you are not alone...until you
leave the computer and go out there. Alex has been in
special ed since he was 5 mo old and had no diagnosis'
outside of prematurity. There have always been a 20+
kids in his classroom be it early intervention(
Infant)PPI(special ed preschool) or the regular
grades. All the kids have disabilites. It wasn't until
he was in Kdg that he actually had another schoolmate
that had CP but that boy ws 3 grades ahead of him.
There were so many times I felt that Alex was the
minority among minorites within the disability
community
