EASI's weekly Roundtable Webcast Tonight: Thur. April 22
Posted 9 pm Eastern, 8 Central, 7 Mountain and 6 Pacific
on the web at http://www.rit.edu/~easi

EASI's weekly audio roundtable is an interview with Ray Ingram from
Productivity Works about 3 products they presently have for people with
disabilities. WebSpeak is a special browser devoted to the needs of blind
and visually impaired. It has its own speech engine with it. It looks at
the HTML code of the web so that it can better interpret the page to the
user. Material in columns is decolumnized instead of reading across both
columns making nonsense of the information. It helps with navigation and
with filling forms.

Secondly, Productivity Works has a version of the browser that can be
accessed by telephone rather than with a computer.

The newest product is a kiosk that can be used by someone with no vision.
It combines a simple touch screen with speech output. It can be mastered
in seconds by a blind user. It is now having its first commercial unveiling.
