We are happy to announce the publication of a new collection of African
folktales titled:
OKHOGISO
(A COLLECTION OF EDO FOLKTALES FROM BENIN, NIGERIA), by
ADEMOLA IYI-EWEKA .
Published by OGISO PUBLICATIONS, Madison, Wisconsin
It contains a collection of twelve stories in about 105 pages. It is in
perfect binding and paper back. The stories in the collection deals with the
Ogisos, the chiefs and how they interacted with the Edo-speaking world as we
were told as children. The story of Chief Oliha takes the lead. It shows
the application of the rule of law as the people of Benin knew it. There is
also some laughter and history -all woven together in the storyteller's mind.
It is good for the student of Afican Studies/literature/history/Anthropology
etc.
