Just a short response to Clive's request, I've replied to him in more
detail, but so far as I know except possibly for Autohelm in Britain, no
GPS systems are both marine usefull and blind accessible.

This may differ for lscreen enlargement, as I've heard of a low vission
sailor who can run one of the charting programs, but so far
charts don't lend themselves to speech output.

some marine systems can be made to speak course corrections, but a bat can't
set them up, thus they can't be called accessible.

Current land based gtalking GPS systems just barely have street maps, it'll
be a while before they can get round to marine charts.
