Did you remember to format the new drive? Installing Win 98 was one of the easier installs I've ever done. Just installed it in 2/01 on a new WD 30 gig 7200 rpm drive. Do a google search (www.google.com) for "installing Windows 98". I found a detailed list of instructions, right down to all the DOS codes. You might try pulling the power plugs on your other drives so you only have your C drive running when you do the installation.
