Schools and universities are using more and more multimedia in their
courses. New software makes it easier to create, and many faculty are
using it. PowerPoint has long been popular with teachers, and narrated
PowerPoint is attractive as a way to deliver lectures on the
Web. University Podcasts and Vodcasts will probably never be as popular as
MTV but educators are rushing into this medium as well.

When a new wave strikes the Internet world, the issues of accessibility for
people with disabilities usually comes as an afterthought. These Web
conferences will address this issue.

On September 11 there will be a demonstration of a new tool that helps make
narrated PowerPoint accessible with minimal effort by the PowerPoint
provider. Check out this free Web conference at
http://easi.cc/clinic.htm
** note registering will save a seat in the live event and, if you can't
attend, will also get you a recording.

September 12 and running for 4 weeks is a series of Web conferences on
Podcasts, Vodcasts and increased accessibility. This fee-based series is
$150 both for the live events and the recording. Check it out at
http://easi.cc/clinic.htm

EASI has also upgraded and enhanced its 7 online, month-long courses that
lead to the Certificate in Accessible Information Technology. October
course is Barrier-free Web Design
