Fellow Africans:
The 2001 AAM administration wishes you and yours a Happy and Safe Holiday
Season. We are using this opportunity to encourage all the various African
and affiliate associations to send us their calendars for the 2001 Calendar
Year. This will help develop a planner or 'master calendar' for the year.
Such a calendar will help us:
minimize scheduling conflicts
plan ahead
encourage and increase inter-association participation.
If you are responsible for event scheduling or know who is in your
organization please contact me, Felix at [log in to unmask]
We still need volunteers for the various committees- both African Festival
sub committees and African Association standing committees. The Festival
committees are:
Festival Planning
Programming/Activities
Promotion and Publicity
Finance and Fundraising
Monitoring and Evaluation
Vendor and Site Management
Evening Dance
We are a very small community here and every body counts. Please volunteer,
make a difference and make our community work. If we don't do it nobody will
do it for us. Please contact Pierre Gbedey at 608.244.5844 or

If you have any interesting article, poem, news item you want to share with
the community through the African Association's Talking Drum (first quarter
2001 ed.) please forward it to me Felix Ossia at [log in to unmask]
Thanks for your anticipated cooperation and have a happy, joyous and safe
holiday season.
Felix
