Greetings Amakobe. I also coach soccer and have thought the same thing. However, I think it would be beneficial to market the opportunity broaders the the AAM. I have been thinking about bringing the idea to the attention of 100 Black Men. As you probably know, very few of our youth participate in soccer. Of those that do, very few are consistent in their participation.

I have been hesitant to bring it up as I don't know how much longer I will be in Madison and have a couple of other projects I have to complete, but I am willing to talk with you and others about it if they are interested. Hopefully we can talk about this soon. Peace.

Subject: AAM - Youth Soccer Club

I have been coaching youth soccer for the last 10 years. I tried to stay
active playing but found out that my bones are more fragile now then they
were a few years ago. I watch these younger players and grimace every time
they run into each other. So I coach. I'm nationally certified to coach
soccer players older than 13 years. My U12 girls team is currently 14-0 and
worn first place in the Magic Cup. The team has been moved up to the more
competitive league. I know there are good coaches, members of the AAM. I'm
proposing we start a Youth Soccer Club within AAM as a service to the
community. We have a club the teams can be registered under. It is one of
the oldest clubs in town. Did you know it is nationally known and was
started and is run by one of our own?

Any ideas please?

Amakobe
