I have an American family staying in our (gluten-free) house In Oxford, UK on vacation in August.
The 2 celiacs in the family also need to eat egg and dairy free. I am providing some gluten (egg and dairy) free foods such as flour and would like to leave them some recipes to try. Bread is not a problem but as I have no personal experience of baking without eggs or dairy, I would appreciate any suggestions from UK coeliacs in particular for successful recipes (or sources of recipes) for cakes and biscuits using egg and milk substitutes. At present I have got Schar Mix C and Tritamyl and Juvela Harvest flours. I also have Orgran egg substitute (which I've never used). What can be used as a butter/margerine substitute? I have a good Michael Barry recipe for chocolate cake using sunflower oil instead of margarine calling for 2 eggs - would the Orgran work OK?
Also, does anyone know if the following, requested by the family, are available in the UK or what the equivalents are:
Jif PB - not sure what this is
Fritos - not sure what this is - chips of some kind?
Nacho COrn Chips
Corn Pops Cereal - is this Kelloggs Corn Pops
Fruit Roll-ups (Betty Crocker)
