Thanks so much to all of you who responded. I'm grateful for your
kindness and help. So many people included words of encouragement and
caring in their notes, it makes one feel better just to know you're
all out there! Here's the summary:

Most people suggested double checking sources of hidden gluten,
especially medications and supplements (have checked, will re-check!).
One person said it took 9 months for his diarrhea to clear up, some
others said up to a year or even two.

Many people suggested eliminating dairy (which I had already done),
not just because of lactose, but for casein as well.

Several people suggested being tested for microscopic colitis &
referred me to Dr Fine's web site.

Three people suggested taking L-glutamine to enhance intestinal
healing (which my ND already had me doing. Two suggested taking one
500 mg. capsule with each meal. (My Doc recommended 3 grams powdered,
2x per day.)

Two people suggested taking Probiotics complex with each meal.
Caution: I found that some brands of this contain maltodextrin. Read
the label before buying.

One person suggested quercetin/bromelian supplements.

One person says, for the cramps, diarrhea etc, take the homeopathic
remedy VETRATRUM ALB 30C.

A couple of people suggested eliminating sugar and yeast.

One person suggested looking into the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.
Several people suggested an elimination diet to track down offending foods.
One person suggested buying GF flours only from Authentic Foods,
saying they're the only manufacturer in the US that does only GF
products.

One suggested getting packets of the 'good' bacteria at your
pharmacy. Lactinex granules (a box contains 10 packets).

One person suggests Kirkman EnZymAid from www.kirkmanlabs.com and
Twinlab super Enzyme from www.needs.com, one each with each meal, as
well as other supplements including B12 shots.
