Ok, spoke to GI who said this is way over her head and we must see the allergist ASAP. Her dietician said Neocate is nutritionally sufficient til age 1 but she is concerned about the developmental skills associated with eating (I am also concerned about this). he is eating rice cereal from a spoon 2x a day. She said at this point, most kids (non allergic) are attempting some simple finger foods (cheerios, teether biscuits, etc) and said it'd be great if I could find a safe alternative for this (I asked about rice crackers and she said to ask allergist). I just wanted to know if there is safe finger food for babies (w/ few or no teeth) who have allergies. The only safe food we know of is rice (and I am concerned that "overuse" of this will cause a reaction to it, but I have no choice).
Another question, someone, I think on this list, recommended introducing foods "backwards" to an allergic prone infant....she said start with MEATS....who was this...and can I have more info? Has anyone done this? Was it successful?
Thanks!
Nancy
