Kevin,
The basic differences I've found between the g707 and v7a are that the
g707 is a single receive and the v7a is dual receive. Also, the g707
reads pl and the v7a does not.  Of course, you still need the optional
speech synthesizer with either rig.  Both radios feature a menu selection
called A I P, which will cut down on your intermod and pager noise.
