My Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner has suggested that I take a
specific "tincture" which has a base of 5% alcohol. I E-mailed the
company to learn if the alcohol is grain based, as the label only says
"alcohol." My practitioner says that if I take the top off the tincture
bottle and put the bottle into boiling water for a few minutes the
alcohol will evaporate out of the tincture and it should be OK.
Naturally, I'm uneasy about this if indeed it is grain based alcohol.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Any informed
opinions?

Latimer
