My understanding from APH is that the BookPort has been discontinued
indefinitely. I keep hoping I was given misinformation, but no update
as of yet. Funny this topic should come up though as on my Assistive
Technology show for this week, I'll be demonstrating the Victor
Stream, HumanWare's answer to the BookPort. The Stream does play
downloadable NLS content and will supposedly interface with the
digital cartridges once they're finally released.
more info about the Stream can be found on HumanWare's site -- http://www.humanware.ca
is the faster way to get there even if it's not their main page.
Info concerning my show, which is happening tomorrow with archives to
be posted soon thereafter can be found at http://www.atmaine.com/
atshow .
As a former BookPort user, I sincerely do hope APH hasn't given up on
it altogether. Even though the Stream is a great device, having
choices is a wonderful thing.

That is all I know.
