Holiday Meeting & GF Dinner
on Sunday, December 9th, at 3:30p.m.
will be held at the
JWa (TM)s View Restaurant
in Arlington, VA
At the holiday meeting/dinner you will have an extraordinary view of the
Nation's Capital and Georgetown from the Virginia side of the Francis Scott
Key Bridge. The Key Bridge Marriott is only minutes from Washington, and two
blocks from the Rosslyn Metro Station. It's located conveniently on Lee
Highway with plenty parking at the easy to access parking garage.
The Future of Celiac Disease and the GF Dieta Ann Whelan, our
holiday guest speaker, is publisher of Gluten Free Living, the only
independent, national newsletter for those who are gluten sensitive. A
celiac herself, Ann founded the newsletter six years ago after a long
career in the publishing industry.
Gluten-Free Living has published landmark articles on
vinegar and other ingredients that are of great concern to those who
follow a gluten-free diet. In her talk, she will address some of these
ingredients and also discuss what we can expect in the coming years as
more and more celiacs are diagnosed and confusion about the diet is
straightened out.
The meeting will begin at 3:30 with a happy hour that will include
GF holiday treats. Ann will speak from 4 to 5, then we will enjoy a
fabulously prepared GF dinner. Don't miss the chance to hear a great
speaker and enjoy a gourmet meal that's not to be missed.

The following is from: Washington DC, The American Experinece
http://www.washington.org/frameset.html
Dear Friends,
Today, Washington, DCa (TM)s familiar national landmarks carry a particularly
inspiring message. From the somber tribute to the Vietnam veterans to the
stately rendering of Abraham Lincoln, these monuments and memorials convey a
powerful sense of our shared heritage. These are scenes from the American
Experience. The flags that fly above the United States Capitol, the White
House and throughout the city fly proudly at full staff, celebrating our
history and signaling the promise of a new beginning.
Washington, DC is extremely proud of our world-class attractions. Our hotels,
restaurants, museums and universities are second to none. Our police and
other city agencies routinely handle large events such as the Presidential
Inaugural and the Fourth of July festivities on the National Mall. In fact,
our city regularly handles large events and sensitive affairs that often
require special security considerations. In partnership with the federal
government, we are confident that the District of Columbia has the resources
to respond effectively to any situation.
As we look ahead, we all share the responsibility to heed President Busha (TM)s
call to return to business. In the spirit of national unity, we encourage our
fellow Americans to join us in Washington, DC as we rally behind a timely
message of patriotism. Now more than ever, our Nationa (TM)s Capital stands as a
symbol of freedom and a beacon for the future. In a time when we could all
use a little extra inspiration, it is comforting to know that Washington, DC
remains your Nationa (TM)s Capital, your American Experience. Come for a
visit.
And be inspired.
Sincerely,
Anthony A. Williams
Mayor District of Columbia
