Good morning list members:
Wonder if someone can help solve a problem for me, this I'm sure will be
simple to some but not to me as a comparative novice.
Through a somewhat circuitous route I recently became the owner of a Toshiba
lap top computer.
This computer has an interchangeable drive - floppy drive and cd rom drive.
Forget the floppy drive - that is working great.
I had assumed that I could copy files to the cd rom drive but every time I
do this, using the Windows keystrokes, and in the usual way, I get an access
denied error message.
I tried to look at the properties for the cd rom drive but was only
presented with the usual info, disk space, etc. I notice that the
properties page only has a general tab and not a tools tab on my pc which
gives me the option to carry out various maintenance tasks.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, can anyone tell me how I can discover if
the cd rom drive is a cd/rw drive or if I can only read the drive and not
write to it.
I tried saving a Word document straight onto the cd rom disk but was given
the message to the effect that the file is marked is Read only.
I have not downloaded any cd burning software, assuming this would already
be on this new computer.
Can somebody please help. I am a real novice at this kind of stuff so
simple language would be helpful.
Many thanks, guys. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Best regards:
DOREEN YALE.
