What kinds of results have you had with the New York State Attorney
General's office?
And, what does the Bureau of Charities (or whatever the governmental entity
is called in N.Y.) say about these folks.
Having done some work in the charities field, I know they are required to be
registered and I also know the A.G. should investigate all complaints about
them. Make a complaint! And ask, in a letter using the words "freedom of
information" what reports they have had about this org.
I've heard the ads. They are sucking money on people's fear of blindness.
And, send some letters to the editors in newspapers, too! That'll make
folks know there's a question about
"Heritage for the Blind".
I still have that list of prayer books. Did you ever request any?
