One of the great uses to which we can put Blind Line is the ability to
celebrate the success of blind people who are achievers in their chosen
profession. The world's longest soap opera, although fans of this show feel
most uncomfortable calling it that, is a show on BBC Radio 4 in Britain
called "The Archers". It began its run in January 1951 and is still going
strong. Recently, a character who has been mentioned in "The Archers" from
time to time found his voice in the programme. The character isn't blind,
but the actor is. He auditioned with a large number of sighted actors for
the part, and the story editor decided that his was simply the best
audition. His name is Ryan Kelly, he plays Jazzer in this immensely popular
radio series, and he joins us on Blind Line this week.

Because he is in the UK, and we anticipate quite a bit of interest from our
UK listeners in this show, we've moved the programme forward. The show will
air on Sunday at 2100 Universal time, that's Sunday at 5 PM Eastern, 2 PM
Pacific, on ACB Radio Mainstream. It will replay over the next day or so.
We
will, for technical reasons, be unable to take calls live to air, but if
you
would like to ask any questions either during or prior to the show, you can
e-mail them to
