<< Damper was a food eaten by the Australian Aborigines.
Wild seeds were crushed and mixed with water to create
a thick paste which was cooked over the fire.
European settlers loved the taste and started calling
it damper.
Prepared authentically this is truly a paleo food.

native Americans made the same stuff - the Spanish called it atole, or pinole.
