* Perform entry-level programming assignments using multiple languages in
support of various systems.

* The successful candidate must either have the required technical knowledge
or show the ability to quickly gain the required knowledge and be motivated
to apply the knowledge to solve programming related problems.

* Development is done in a team atmosphere, so the candidate must be able to
convey ideas and handle difficult design and programming issues within a
group.





Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or the
equivalent is preferred.  An Associate's degree or equivalent technical
training will be considered.

* Understanding of fundamental programming concepts and its principles.

* Experience with any programming languages.

* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as in a
team environment, with a professional attitude.

* Provide technical assistance over the phone, by diagnosing and
troubleshooting a full range of IT-related issues; including desktop and
laptop hardware, commercial off-the-shelf software, custom applications, and
networking-related problems.

* Respond to incoming customer calls, analyze events and information,
diagnose cause of problem, and resolve the technical problem by advising the
customer.

* Dispatch technical calls that cannot be resolved on first level problems
to the proper support area.

* Document and log all pertinent call information (customer info, nature of
problem, solution, etc.) via call tracking software.

* Stay up to date with all systems and tools used in diagnosing and
correcting customer IT problems.

* Stay up to date with the customer computing environment (hardware,
software, and supported applications).

* Support multiple networking protocols (specifically TCP/IP and Ethernet),
and support multiple versions of commercial software products such as MS
Office, MS Exchange, Web browsers, etc.

* Follow up on unresolved customer issues.

* Provide callers with information on overall computer environment status
(outages, system performance issues, up changes, etc.).





Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or the
equivalent is preferred.  An Associate's degree or equivalent technical
training will be considered.  Microsoft, Novell, A+, or other certifications
will also be considered.

* Must be capable of responding to and resolving a broad range of customer
requests for problem resolution and service requests in a timely manner.

* Must be able to independently analyze customer requirements/system alerts,
and develop appropriate solutions to meet expected service levels.

* Technical knowledge coupled with effective oral communication skills are a
must.

* Prefer experience with Unix, Windows 2000 or NT, MS Office, and other
standard desktop applications.

* Prefer incumbent to be bilingual.

* Must be available to work on flexible schedules, including weekends.

* Must possess excellent telephone etiquette, ability to act quickly to
change, and to perform in a team environment.

Position Description:

Responsibilities include the following:

* Use standardized tools to monitor wide-area networks in a multi-client
environment and respond to alarms according to documented standard operating
procedures.

* Receive inbound telephone calls from Network Engineering Services and
other personnel, obtain status of network events, and route calls and
tickets appropriately.

* Open, maintain, and close tickets on internal and external ticketing
systems.

* Take initial problem ownership for many clients, requiring limited
technical expertise.

* Escalate events to Tier II Network Analysts according to Standard
Operating Procedures.

* Partner with Tier II Network Analysts to learn the more advanced technical
troubleshooting methodologies of WAN support.





Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or the
equivalent is preferred.  An Associate's degree or equivalent technical
training will be considered.

* First and second level technical certification in WAN/LAN field desirable.

* Good understanding of LAN/WAN concepts, including TCP/IP.



* Basic understanding of the concepts of HP Openview, various ticketing
systems, including Remedy, AHD, TSO (Infoman).

* Knowledge of Lotus Notes/multiple databases.

* Excellent telephone/customer service skills.

* Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.

* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as in a
team environment, with a professional attitude.

* Flexibility is required due to possible rotating shift work.
