192.168.1.0 is a network address and cannot be used as the address for a
computer. You may use 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 as a pair of
addresses. For a class C address where the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0,
n.n.n.0 is always the network address and n.n.n.255 is the broadcast
address. Any number between 1 and 254 may be used for the computer.

do. Select the TCP/IP protocol and click properties and on IP Address
tab, Specify IP address and type in the value 192.168.1.0 in IP Address
and the value 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask. Also make sure that you
have a device shared (A printer or a folder or a drive).
Now go to your other PC and do exactly the same thing except type the IP
address as 192.168.1.1 with the same Subnet Mask.
