A clicking noise started coming from my computer. I shutdown, took the cover off and realized the noise was coming from my 2nd harddrive, my D drive a Maxtor DiamondMax 30 gig. When I booted up next the clicking lasted several seconds and then stopped but my D drive is no longer recognized. Does this mean my D drive is toast? It is still under warranty, only 2 months old so I can send it back but I'm more interested in knowing if there is anything I can try to get some of the files off it short of spending a lot of money. Any suggestions most welcome.
