Ron Stewart, Director of the Technology Access Program, Information
Services, at Oregon State University, wanted a copy of the California
Community Colleges statement about Section 508 not applying to their system.
Although I do not have a copy of this statement, I find it interesting to
note that this higher education system published their guidelines to
distance education in August 1999. To many in the field, these guidelines
serve as a model to implementing accessibility in distance education for
students and faculty. Most likely, these guidelines would support Section
508 implementation. Please see:
