The 820 has been around a while, and it may be that the rollers and mechanism that pulls the paper either need to be cleaned or replaced if worn out.  I think this is something you'll have to discuss with a service technician, although given the price of new inkjets, it may be better to spring for a last year's model 895 or 900 series.  The cost of in shop repair is so high that it doesn't usually pay to have an old one repaired. Just the estimate can approach $50, which is half the cost of some inkjets.
