Has anyone sufferred from severe depression that has been resolved or
lessoned by going gf? My brother suffers from severe depression and
mood disorders. He is currently being tested by Dr. Fine for gluten
sensitivity. I'd like to share info with him on others that have been
helped by the diet. I have been taking St John's Wort for more than 2
years for mild depression. I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance in
April this year. I have maintained a strict GF diet and began to feel
better almost immediately. Within the last month I began sufferring
severe fatigue and drugged like feelings. (Similar to my gluten
reactions). I searched my diet and preparations for hidden gluten with
no luck. I decided it must be in the St John's Wort. My bottle claimed
gf status. I contacted the maker and was assured of it's gf status on
ingredients and processing. I then began research on St John's Wort. I
learned that there is a syndrome you can get from SJW when you don't
need it anymore. The symptoms were identical to those I was
sufferring. I have now eliminated my day time dosage of SJW and the
symptoms are gone. I am weaning off the night time dosage now. I'm so
thrilled with this as I feel that by going GF my body has been "healed"
from depression! Anyone else with depression that has been resolved by
going gf?

Thanks,
Jill/Texas
