Our Phoenix Gastroenterology Society is letting us include a flier
and cover letter to their doctors in their monthly mailing. This mailing
goes out to about 150 gastroenterologists in the Phoenix area. In our
cover letter, I have asked the doctors to hold on to the flier about our
monthly support meetings and make a copy of it available to any Celiacs
patients they may have or diagnose.

Other cities all over the country may have similar gastroenterology
societies. You may want to ask your support group to check with a local
gastro on the possibility of doing the same thing in your city.
Remember, for many of us being diagnosed meant hearing the doctor
say, "You have Celiac Disease. JUST change your diet. Good-Bye!" as they
sent us out the door. I'm hoping the Phoenix gastros will remember our
flier and at least send their newly diagnosed patients out the door with a
hope for some help and support in their hands.

            Nina :)
