Does anyone have any experience submitting claims through CIGNA as the
administrator for their employer's flexible spending medical
reimbursement account?

I have searched the archives and found various successes and failures
for obtaining reimbursements for purchases of gluten-free foods. I've
never attempted to submit claims for this purpose, but my company is
switching to using CIGNA to administer their plan.

Because I have to estimate what I will spend next year, I've been
attempting to have CIGNA provide me with a detailed "procedure" for what
they will accept as a valid claim for gluten-free food and any
requirements they might have: letter from doctor, receipts, etc. I'm
not surprised that no one seems to know and I can't seem to get anyone
from the company to respond to my inquiry. I have a deadline of Nov. 21
to submit my claim estimate for next year. If I overestimate or CIGNA
refuses to accept my reimbursement claims, I will lose any pre-tax
monies set aside for this purpose.

So if anyone has first-hand experience submitting claims through CIGNA,
I'd really appreciate knowing if you have any problems, or what they
will and will not cover.

Thanks.
