At the same time, too, there are Christian denominations where vegetarianism
is common practise--the Seventh Day Adventists are the first that come to
mind...
It's like what I said in response to Ray's e-mail... To be fully
vegetarian, you have to learn food combination and such to make up for the
animal proteins you lack. OTOH, if you were to be "authentically"
paleo-eating in the Pacific Northwest, to try to live without meat would be
very unhealthy, because of the seasonal shift in the availability of plant
foods. The nuts and berries you'd find in late summer and autumn aren't
available year-round...
A hunter-gatherer needs to go where the food is, which isn't easy if you're
living a modern city life...
Maybe I'll re-read "NeanderThin" and the other books I've seen suggested,
before I say too much more...
