Hi Linda,

Some of my favourite books regarding children with disablities are:

MINE FOR KEEPS BY JEAN LITTLE-- A CANADIAN AUTHOR. The book is now out of
print, and was written in the mid to late 1960's. It should be at a local
library, though. It is about a young girl who goes from a segregated
school setting to "regular" school, how the other children accept her with
her leg braces and crutches, etc.

My Journey with Jake: A Memoir of Parenting and disability By Miriam
Endelson also a Canadian author, whose son has lissencephaly (a disorder
simillar in presentation to cerebral palsy, but eventually causes loss of
life). Shows the famy struggle to put their son in a group home far from
home, how they bring a sibling into the picture and integrate the child
w/disability into her life, etc.

NO ORDINARY MOVE BY LINDA BIDABE- AN EDUCATOR OF SEVERELY DISABLED
CHILDREN IN CALIFORNIA, AND FOUNDER OF THE MOVE PROGRAM TO GET CHILDREN
AND ADULTS WITH SEVERE DISABILITIES US AND MOVING IN RIFTON GAIT TRAINERS,
STANDERS, ETC.

To find out about the book you can go to www.move-international.org

I think this book would be the closest to what you are trying to find.
Hope this helps.
Jenn
