no, walking is not the only mobility, but, let's face it, mike, legs are
more convenient. i have been temporarily in a chair from surgery. i know
some of the accessability problems that you guys have that us walkies get
around. when my legs go, i'll go to a power chair. no i do not consider
wheelies as subhuman. i think you are super human to keep going. i walk now,
but, at the shows of equipment that come and go here, i certainly look at
what is available so i'll know when the time arrives that i need it.

Hey there, I know this will add more controversy to this thread, but a
little
thinking never hurt anyone. Have we bought into the notion that walking is
the
only locomotion fit for humans, and that if we rely on otrher mobility
tools, we
become subhuman? That's what it sounds like to me... So what if we become
dependent on powerchairs and/or scooters? The powerchair/scooter becomes
our legs,
and if family or friends can't handle it, it is theiir problem, not ours.
