There is an opening in an area community theater production called
"The
Saga of Sergeant Bates. It is a post Civil War tale based on a true
story.  Rehearsal is in Stoughton with performances at the Stoughton
Opera House beginning 9/20 for 3 weekends.

One scene involves an African American adult male, an ex-slave who
also
was a veteran of a Wisconsin Regiment.  The role was cast, but the
actor
had to cancel, so they are  in need of someone to play the part.

If you can help in anyway by spreading the word or if you know anyone
who might be interested, have them call the director Tom Countryman
(in
Edgerton) at 608-884-3614.
