This is not related to the discussion about Liberia. That was ended. No
one wanted to answer my question. This was in reply to Wilmot's statement
that America cares little about Africa. I am not ignoring what America
has done in Africa. I have an open mind, but, when a billion dollars of
American taxpayer money is dismissed and called "little," I have to take
exception to that. Many working, taxpaying families in this country exist
at a level barely above the poverty level and programs are cut that could
help them. America is not the only country that has executed "rape" in
Africa. All of the former world powers have work to do. If a billion
dollars is not enough, if time, troops, provisions, and money are not
enough, what is enough? Just for the record, I would not stoop to making
this a "African-Americans vs. Africans" discussion. It is as if, on this
forum, if someone doesn't see things the way that the majority of the forum
does, they are automatically seen as against Africa, Africans,
collaborators with the "rapists," ignorant, divisive, and 'gasp'
conservative. None of this applies. Africans (in Africa) and
African-Americans have a lot of the same problems caused by a lot of the
same people.
