JOB DESCRIPTION
CASE MANAGER
___________________________________________________________
Summary Statement:

Responsibilities include orientation, training, screening, case
planning and matching of volunteers and children; providing ongoing
contact with matched volunteers, parents and clients according to the
Case Work Manual.

Specific Responsibilities

1.      Orientation/training of volunteers and clients and their
families within the guidelines established by the Agency.

2.      Interviews, screens, and matches volunteers and clients within
the guidelines and using the criteria established b the agency.  This
includes the gathering of data necessary to determine the
appropriateness of service to clients and suitability of prospective
volunteers.

3.      Matches and supervises volunteers and clients within the
guidelines and criteria established by the agency.

4.      Supervise all matches through telephone and personal contacts,
maintaining complete and accurate records with a focus on goal setting
and attainment.

5.      Maintain a caseload that ranges approximately between 55-75
matches.

6.      Evaluates quality of matches regularly and may terminate or
suspend matches, volunteers and/or families after appropriate
discussion
and approval of case work supervisor or Executive Director.

7.      Responsible for reassessment of all volunteers and clients to
determine if they should be matched, closed, or referred to another
agency for service.

8.      Complete appropriate update and correspondence with families
of
unassigned clients as required by the guidelines established by the
agency.

9.      Attend agency functions involving volunteers, children, and
their families.  Perform other duties as assigned by Case Work
Supervisor and/or Executive Director.

Administrative Responsibilities:

1.      Organizes and participates in orientation sessions, training
sessions, and activities for volunteers and/or clients.  Initiates
volunteer/client involvement.

2.      Participates and helps, as needed, with agency special events,
Board committees, and office support.

Position Specifications:

Degree in Social Work or related field.  Experience in case work and
volunteer management helpful but not required.  Knowledge in areas of
human growth, development and parenting skills a plus.  Good phone,
interviewing, decision-making, written and verbal skills necessary.
Willingness to work flexible hours is essential.

Personal Characteristics

Demonstrated stability, analytical ability, mature judgment, and a
sense of commitment to helping others.

Salary

The position will start at a yearly salary of $24,000.
