Community Organizer
Madison WI
Seeking experienced organizer to help develop neighborhood-based
organization in predominantly low-income, minority area of 4800.
Facilitate resident participation and leadership development; support
residents identifying and advocating for key issues and strategies;
develop partnerships and mobilize resources of public and private
organizations; support activities associated with building a new
neighborhood center.
Two years organizing experience with diverse populations, degree in
community development, social sciences or related field, or equivalent
level of training and/or experience. Excellent oral and written
communication skills; Ability to work with wide variety of people; Work
flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Full-time position through June 2002 with likelihood of extension. Salary
range: $33,000 $38,000 plus benefits. Send resume and cover letter by
