Thanks to all who responded, seems this is a topic of interest to allot
of you. As we often hear, the degree of a person's reaction or lack-of
depends largely on their level of sensitivity. Those of you who took the
time to ridicule my question are perhaps on the less sensitive end of
the scale. Ahem. The other 98 percent of responders find being
contaminated by intimate contact with another person to be a cause for
concern. Many of you have learned the hard way and I'll try to
paraphrase your comments....
-Most said problems can be avoided if the gluten eating partner rinses
and/or brushes their teeth after eating/drinking.
-Many have partners who are very conscientious and I did hear from a
number of gluten eaters who are more than willing to accommodate their
celiac partners.
-Those who commented on "other activities that might take place after
kissing" haven't noticed any direct reactions.
-A number of gluten eating partners have changed to gf lipsticks,
toothpaste ect.
-One of you commented on cleaning kids faces and someone mentioned
giving a dog gf dogfood. Apparently he likes to lick her.
-One woman thinks contamination is possible but has always just told her
husband she's allergic to him. (Thanks for the laugh).
-One person sent a link to an article addressing the same subject in
relation to peanut allergies:
Kissing Can Kill Some People:

Thanks again for all of your input. Guess now the trick is to find
someone whose actually willing to carry around a toothbrush on my
behalf.
