I've been using one suite for the past 6 weeks or so with great success.
2.9 cents a minute in the contiguous United States, 10 cents a minute to
Alaska and Hawaii. The rates are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No
loaded first minute. There is no distinction between in-state and out of
state calls or differing rate plans depending on the state from which you
call. You call an 800 number to get access, so you can make calls
without any additional loaded charges from telephones other than your home
number. No need to change long distance carriers, no monthly fees, taxes
seem to be built into the cost, similar to using a pre-paid phone card.

Billing is completely on line, international rates are extremely low as
well. Some examples, United Kingdom, 5 cents a minute, Canada, 5.5 cents
a minute, Japan, 6.5 cents a minute, Australia, 7.5 cents a minute,
Uganda, 45 cents a minute, Moscow 11.5 cents a minute I believe,
St. Petersburg a bit higher, and the rest of the country about 16 cents a
minute. One Suite has a rate page there as well.

The only additional cost is a 55 cent charge per pay phone call. They
explain this situation on their web page. If you don't use a pay
phone to make the call, there is no 55 cent charge per call. The line
quality is very good indeed.

One purchases $10, $20, $30, $40, or $50 blocks of time with their debit
card or I suppose credit card. You have six months to use up the amount
you have purchased. Customer support is done online, through e-mail.
They do not round up the cost of a call. For example, if you make a four
minute call in the contiguous United States, that cost would be 2.9 times
4, equals, 11.600 cents. NOT 12 cents. The billing is on a minute
increment though. That is, if you talk 3 minutes and 25 seconds you are
billed for 4 minutes, but the actual cost isn't rounded up.

I don't have any connection with the company other than being a satisfied
customer. Oh yes, the url is www.onesuite.com. What really pushed me to
go to them was the fact that calls here in Chicago beyond 15 miles radius
cost 10 cents a minute on Ameritech, a complete rip off, 24 hours a
day ripoff. Just by using one suite for my Ameritech calls alone, I have
saved more than 66 percent on these calls alone. For example, 30 minutes
for these calls with Ameritech used to cost me $3 a month. With one suite
they cost 87 cents -- and not a dime to Ameritech. I find that I save
something like $3 to $5 a month on these calls alone, excluding the long
distance savings.

The best one that I am aware of is a company that my wife represents,
International Teamworks Inc. (ITI)
This company offers long distance service which is billed in 6 second
increments at 5.9 cents per minute (state to state), in state rates
are different for each state ours here in Oklahoma is 10 cents per
minute which is again billed in 6 second increments, there is a $3.95
per month service fee, you also receive a toll free number billed at
your long distance rates, you can request at no charge a calling card
which is billed at 13.9 cents a minute in 6 second increments. All of
these rates are good 24/7 and are not pre-pay.

ITI also offers Cellular, Paging, Internet service, Home security,
Satellite TV, Web Hosting, and a Web mall. If you would like to take
a look at what we offer feel free to visit my wife's webpage
