Dori, you're right about these tons of carbs without protein, of course.
They are not only without protein, but also without vitamins.
Particularly vitamins b1-b3 which are required and used off in the process
of processing these carbs.

I spoke about "in nature".
The only nature carb item devoid of protein and vitamins I am aware of is
honey. (mey be not so nature-like).
People without "refinement" (re-worsement) technology and without sugar
plants can't fall into this carb pitfall.
Paleolithic humans didn't have it, earlier primates didn't have it.
In the whole neolithic era up to the last 100 years, sugar was rare or
unavailable.

In nature carb items do have protein. Especially seeds (which are even high)
and especially if you eat a little more than just 2500 kcal, because your
body has some more demands as sitting in a office.

A little low on protein (in nature) is only fruit (per 2500kcal standard).
And this may be different with nature food (fruit not bred for sweetness).

A little cross check.... blackberries may be unbred. .... 4.5 kg blackberry
has 2400 kcal has 98% protein of RDA (54g). As if it was a law.

Regards, Amadeus
P.S. I don't suggest to eat 4.5 kg blackberry.
I suggest any mix. I just note that it's hard to get below 100% RDA
without refined items. With wheat and lentils (the megalithic diet) it will
be hard to get below 200% RDA.
