Me too.  I hated it, most of the houses in our town had steps... and
dogs - which I hate.  My parents would also volunteer to sell raffle
tickets for the Crippled Children's Society, and then make me go out
and sell those.  I hated that worse than any thing else.  I now know
why, it was just an `acceptable' form of begging, but try telling that
to my parents!
