My son Peter went into full blown anaphylactic shock at 5 & 1/2 weeks old
when he had his third bottle of regular old run-of-the-mill formula. After
that I breastfed exclusively for six months. No one told me much about food
allergy, so I kept eating/drinking milk et al. At six months we saw an
allergist and he diagnosed the milk allergy and we began to introduce soy
formula. That is when I began to realize that his stools had been very loose
before. He basically weaned himself and has thrived ever since.
