"AFRICA TALK SHOW"
is a 90-minute variety show where Africans and friends of Africa come together for open discussions on African affairs covering history, people, arts, cultures, religion, societies, politics, economies, news, current events, sciences, etc.

The highlight of the evening will be a presentation and showing of the long awaited television documentary "LIBERIA IN PEACE AND CIVIL WAR" written, produced and narrated by J. Mentee Teah, Executive Producer and Host of the AFRICA TALK SHOW program.

This is the documentary debut and it discloses what went wrong and right in Liberia. You will be first to see it.

"LIBERIA IN PEACE AND CIVIL WAR" takes a closer look at Liberia and explores its background history. It discusses why Liberia, Africa's first peaceful and stable republic for 133 years suddenly erupted into a devastating civil war in 1989. The 14-year vicious civil war has resulted in the deaths of up to 300,000 people and displaced more than a million, both internally and externally and completely destroyed the country's physical infrastructures and institutions.

The panelists will comprise of Cllr. Tiawan S. Gongloe and Mr. William G. Nyanue.

Cllr. Gongloe is one of Liberia's leading human rights lawyers, an ardent advocate for the rule of law, human rights and torture victim. Articulate, thoughtful, and full of integrity, Cllr. Gongloe has dedicated his life to the protection of human rights and the rule of law in Liberia. He is a well-known voice and a vital defender. He has often spoken out against government and rebel abuses at great personal risk, regularly commenting in the media or at meetings on human rights issues while exhibiting incredible courage and strength over the ten years that he has worked closely with Human Rights Watch.

Mr. William G. Nyanue is the current president of the Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas, Inc., a twenty-nine year old nonprofit national association with nine chapters in more than fifteen states. The organization's objectives include fostering peace among citizens from Grand Gedeh County in Liberia living in the United States and Canada, and mobilizing resources for the reconstruction of their county also devastated by the civil war.

Mr. Nyanue advocates for the rule of law, accountability in government and community organizations, and a better quality of life for all Liberians irrespective of social and ethnic backgrounds. His organization promotes peace and understanding among Grand Gedeans and other Liberians in the Americas and Liberia.
