GFCF Celiac (and Autism) Support Group Meetings
Springfield, Illinois

Our group has arranged: GLUTEN-FREE (and gfcf) SECTION IN CUB FOODS,
Veteran's Pkwy., Springfield.  Danna Korn, author of Kids With Celiac
Disease, will do a Cooking Demo at Cub, Monday, July 23, 9-10:30 a.m.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

August 5  -- Cooking Healthy Gluten- and Casein-free Food for Children,
speaker, Betsy Prohaska, author and lecturer.  Focus on dietary support
for Autistic Spectrum/ADD/ADHD children, and the medical research that
supports this intervention.  Her videotape and books will be available at

2 continuing education units (CEUs) for Registered Dietitians
(and DTRs) offered for this meeting.


September 9  --  THE BASICS!  How to get diagnosed, how to know the
symptoms of cd, what is celiac disease, longterm record keeping
for celiacs and autistics.  Preparation for FREE celiac blood testing
Sept.22 in Bloomington. Robert Jeffers, Caltech Ph.D., celiac.

October 25, Thursday evening meeting  -- Presentation by Cynthia Kupper, CRD,
Executive Director of GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group), and a celiac.  Cynthia
is a Registered Dietitian, and lives in Seattle.  She sponsors GIG Kids Camp
and an Annual Education Conference for Celiacs.  GIG is internationally
recognized as reliable information for celiacs, and those with wheat

There will be announcements about several upcoming R.O.C.K. parties
for children.  All our support group meetings are at St. John's Hospital,
Rm. R & S, Sundays, 2:30-4pm (except the October meeting is on Thursday
evening, October 25). ALL meetings are free, and there is no membership fee.
