hi, all

Forgive me for introducing a topic that has purely to do with vanity
and nothing at all to do with overall health.

I am wondering if anyone has experienced success or lack thereof with
any of the tooth-whitening strategies now available, especially the
laser technique. My teeth are very yellow. I would love to find a way
of whitening them without bonding. That is way too expensive to
consider.

I am told that some tooth discoloration -- perhaps that associated
with celiac? I don't know -- is not discoloration of the enamel, but
originates from inside the tooth and is therefore not susceptible to
any whitening process. The whitening toothpastes I have tried don't
make much difference.

I think the most commonly used systems involve a tray moulded to your
teeth which is then filled with a whitening solution and worn for
hours at a time (at night, say) over a period of weeks or months. I
tried that before I was (biopsy) diagnosed with Celiac and developed
extremely painful stomach cramps. I have no way of knowing, but I
would not be surprised to learn that the solution contained gluten. I
have no inclination to give it another shot.

Any advice will be appreciated.
